Banned Books - Nineteen Eighty-Four

Nineteen Eighty-Four George Orwell   (1949)
Banned by Stalin who saw it as a satire on his rule, though Orwell had in mind all totalitarian regimes, even the British government’s wartime control of nearly every aspect of society. The book that gave us Big Brother and redefined hopelessness was finally published in Russia in 1990.
